Progress to the new curriculum - Enterprise Education

Schools will all be at different stages and working in different ways in preparation for implementation of the new New Zealand Curriculum.Educating NZ is involved in a number of exciting projects that address different aspects of the expectations of the  NZC. In one project we are using enterprise as a theme for schools to explore innovative approaches to teaching and learning with an emphasis on student led inquiry and authentic learning contexts. This approach is helping schools consider the way competencies can be embedded into their local curriculum and how to engage resources out in the community to support school based learning. The vision in The New Zealand Curriculum "is for young people who will be creative, energetic and enterprising."  The movie clips describe how schools involved in the Education for Enterprise project have developed enterprising approaches to teaching and learning.Watch interviews with principals, teachers, and students, and find out, what enterprise is, how to successfully implement it into your school, linking it with key competencies, and the benefits of business and community groups engaging with schools.
